School Advisory Council

The School Advisory Council provides an opportunity for greater involvement of the local community in the school.  Involvement in the School Advisory Council is voluntary and provides an opportunity for parents to exercise their talents and skills for the educational good of the pupils and for the management and planning of the school.

The School Advisory Council is responsible for the efficient financial management of the school and also advises on broad policy matters concerning the curriculum and management of the school.   The School Advisory Council meets on a monthly basis with its Annual General Meeting being held in November of each year.  At that particular meeting, a report by the Board Chairperson is presented as well as the provisional budget for the ensuing year.  Also at that time, the election of members to the Board for the following year is held.

The School Advisory Council currently meets on a monthly basis, on a Wednesday.

The School Advisory Council shall carry out the following functions in pursuit of its objectives:

  1. planning for the present and future operation of the school;
  2. disseminating information about the school and about Catholic education to persons and organisations in the school community;
  3. managing all the finances associated with the school;
  4. giving due consideration to school policy with financial implications.
